Lou Kerr, President and Chair, The Kerr Foundation, Inc., has given many years to public service and sits as Board of Director for numerous organizations, including Lyric Theatre, Committee For a Responsible Budget, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Oklahoma City University, National Public Radio and University of Oklahoma Center for International Studies.   Lou helped found The Center of the American Indian Omniplex now known as Red Earth, Inc. and also The Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation.

Lou focuses on the programs that serve to educate and stimulate the mind.  Founder and Chair of Oklahoma International Women's Forum, Lou has partnered OIWF with Oklahoma State University in a successful leadership program since 1992.  She is currently on the IWF Leadership Foundation Board of Directors and has served as International Women's Forum Vice President of Membership and Development, Secretary of IWF Leadership Foundation, and as a Fellow with National Academy of Public Administration, and on the board of National Public Radio.

She serves as a trustee of Oklahoma School of Science and Math Foundation, National Symphony Orchestra, and serves on the boards of Allied Arts, Lyric, and Plaza District.  She chaired the State Capitol Preservation Commission, Oklahoma Centennial Commission, founded the Oklahoma Chapter of Women Presidents' Organization, and served on the Women's Leadership Board-JFK School of Government, Harvard University. 

Some of Lou's awards include Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy Steven A. Novick Award, Oklahoma Creativity Ambassadors Gala Inductee, OSSM Quantum Experience Honoree, ASTEC Door Opener Honoree, Association for Women in Communications Byliners Lifetime Achievement Award, Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame, the Association for Continuing Higher Education Special Recognition Award,   Governor Henry's Proclamation "Lou C. Kerr" Day March 2, 2005,  University of Oklahoma Regents Alumni Award, International Women's Forum "Leading Lights" Award, and Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation Wall of Fame. She has also received Honorary Doctoral Degrees from OCU, Bacone College along with many other Ambassador Lifetime Awards.
