Rachel Cannon Spotlighted for Expanding Oklahoma’s Entertainment Industry
May 2026
Member in the News: Rachel Cannon
Congratulations to new IWF Oklahoma member Rachel Cannon, CEO of Rock Paper Cannon, who was recently featured in an article highlighting Oklahoma's growing role in television production and live-audience sitcom development.
Rachel is leading an exciting new chapter in Oklahoma's entertainment industry through Rock Paper Cannon, the first full-service independent television studio dedicated exclusively to multi-camera sitcoms. Her vision and leadership have helped champion a proposed $5 million sitcom rebate pilot program currently awaiting approval by Governor Kevin Stitt.
The initiative is designed to position Oklahoma as a national destination for live-audience television production while creating long-term economic impact for the state. Industry leaders and legislators supporting the program believe sitcoms and recurring television productions have the potential to bring sustained jobs, infrastructure growth, and creative opportunities to Oklahoma.
Prior to launching Rock Paper Cannon in 2025, Rachel served as co-CEO of Prairie Surf Media, where she helped bring major productions including Tulsa King and Twisters to Oklahoma.
Rachel's passion, innovation, and commitment to building opportunities in the entertainment industry continue to place Oklahoma on the national stage. We congratulate her on this exciting momentum and are proud to welcome her to IWF Oklahoma.
